Nick DeSantis moved to the NW in 1996 where he began as a principal dancer
with Spectrum Dance Theatre, at that time under the direction of Dale
Merrell. He Performed locally and in Europe dancing a repertory by some of
America's most influential choregraphers: Margo Sappington, Frank Chaves
and Ann Reinking among them.
After a foray into Community Theatre with the Microsoft Theatre troupe (as
Anatoly in "Chess", Angelo in "Measure for Measure", Algernon in
"...Earnest" and Psudolys in "...Forum") he once again got the musical
theatre bug from his college years and began auditioning in professional
theatre as well. Locally he has been seen on stage at Second Story
Repertory in "A Little Night Music" and "The Foreigner". Also at The
Village Theatre as Rooster in "Annie" for which he won a Seattle Footlight
award along with his spiritual sister Bobbi Kotula. At ArtsWest he has been
seen as Alfred/Sam in "Romance, Romance", Moffat in "The Judas Kiss" and
Papa Ge in "Once on this Island". Look for him this Holiday season as
Skimbleshanks/Bustopher Jones in "Cats" at the Village as well.
Nick is recently retired from an 18 year career in computer systems
development with AT&T, Microsoft and Expedia Inc. The frenzied influx of
both right and left brain activity left him exhausted and bewildered, so now
he just lives for the theatre. Well, the theatre and his dog. Ok...the
theatre, his dog and his boyfriend....but not necessarily in that order.
