From the pen of composer Charles Strouse, who made the world "Put On A Happy Face" with BYE BYE BIRDIE and dream of a brighter "Tomorrow" with ANNIE, comes his newest musical, DANCING WITH TIME. Showtunes! Theatre Company is proud to present the West Coast premiere concert workshop of this new musical set against the backdrop of the theatre and political worlds. DANCING WITH TIME features book, music & lyrics by Mr. Strouse, a stellar cast of local theater favorites, direction by David-Edward Hughes, and music direction by Mark Rabe. Serving as a major fundraiser for Showtunes! 2007-2008 season at KPC, this not-to-be-missed evening may be purchased as show only, or as a package with show and post-show reception. The gala reception will feature Mr. Strouse in attendance, a champagne and savory buffet, as well as an exciting silent auction of theater memorabilia.

BROADWAY LEGEND CHARLES STROUSE returns for Showtunes! gala fundraiser and NW concert premiere of ‘DANCING WITH TIME’

KIRKLAND, WA — From the pen of composer Charles Strouse, who made the world "Put On A Happy Face" in BYE BYE BIRDIE and dream of a brighter "Tomorrow" in ANNIE, comes his newest musical, DANCING WITH TIME. This “musical within a musical” depicts an aspiring composer who stumbles upon a long undiscovered manuscript by his Grandfather, and how an impromptu reading of the piece inspires the artist to pursue his own ambitions.

Showtunes! Theatre Company is proud to present the Northwest premiere concert of this new musical, set against the backdrop of theatre and politics, and filled with music by one of the country’s most beloved composers. This one-night-only not-to-be-missed event features not only the concert, but also a post-show gala fundraiser reception with Mr. Strouse in attendance, a champagne and savory buffet, and an exciting silent auction of theater memorabilia with proceeds going to help produce the Showtunes! 2007-2008 season at the Kirkland Performance Center.

DANCING WITH TIME will be under the direction of David-Edward Hughes, with music direction by Mark Rabe, and musical staging by Alison Lani Broda. The cast of DANCING WITH TIME includes local theatre favorites; Craig Doescher, Jessica Skerritt, Eric Englund, Angie Louise, Eric Jensen, Nick DeSantis, Marcus Wolland and Harry Turpin.

Concert begins at 7:30pm on June 30^th, 2007 at the Kirkland Performance Center, gala fundraiser reception and silent auction immediately following the performance.
